Monday 28th February
Mill of Mains beat Rowantree 5-1 in DSA Arab Trust Section A.
Craigowl beat Downfield 5-0 in the Cameron Cup 1st Round and now play home to Glebelands in the semifinal.
Monifieth beat Harris 1-0 in the DSA U14 League. A very close game which looked like ending goalless but the last quarter provided the talking points. First Harris hit a shot from the edge of the box which curled onto the foot of the right post and bounced back out. Then Monifieth looked to have scored but the referee spotted an offside so did not award a goal. Finally with the end of the game in sight Monifieth broke through the middle and fired a shot onto the foot of the left post and it bounced over the line into the net.
St.John's beat Mintlaw Ac. 4-1 in the U14 Plate 2nd Round and play Wallace HS or Boroughmuir HS or Turnbull HS away.
Broughton HS beat Grove 2-0 in the Senior Shield 5th Round. A goal from a free kick after half an hour gave the Edinburgh team the lead which they doubled in the second half. Grove attacked well in the last 15 minutes but the vital spark was missing.

St.Ninian's beat St.Clement's 5-0 in the DSA Arab Trust Small Schools League at Myrekirk while St.Pius beat Victoria Park 6-1, quickly rearranged from Wednesday's wash-out.
St.Paul's beat Grove 5-2 in the DSA U14 League. Grove opened the scoring with a superb volley at the far post connecting with a cross from the right. Grove then hit the bar and soon rolled in a second goal before the break. In a proverbial game of two halves St.Paul's not only defended well but were 3-2 up in the first twelve minutes of the half. They continued to take the game to Grove and added a fourth ten minutes later. With only seconds left St.Paul's capped a 5-star 2nd-half performance with a 5th goal.

Downfield v. Eastern in Arab Trust DSA Section C, St.Andrew's v. Ballumbie in Arab Trust DSA Section D were frozen off.
Grove and St.John's drew 0-0 in the DSA Arab Trust Senior League. Only the second goalless draw this season, the other one being Grove Seniors again in the season opener against Monifieth. The morning snow had disappeared by mid-afternoon but despite the sun it was a chilly windy affair at Whitton with little between the teams. The best chance fell to Grove in the second half but the excellent St.John's keeper turned it away for a corner.

Baldragon and Grove drew 2-2 in the DSA U13 League. Grove saw their first-half lead overturned by Baldragon who were 2-1 up at the interval. Both sides had chances in an even second half and Grove beat the offside trap to level at 2-2. The Baldragon keeper was equal to all other possibilities and a draw was a fair result.
Forth Valley beat Dundee 4-1 at Broughty Athletic's Whitton Park in the U15 National Trophy. Dundee's chance of reaching the semifinal depended on a win against Forth Valley in the last group game (or a draw followed by a penalty shoot-out win) but Dundee were up against it in the first half as Forth Valley moved into a 2-0 lead. Dundee failed to reach their previous rhythm, not helped by a strong blustery wind and some controversial decisions. Penalty awards and non-awards in particular seemed to lack consistency. Dundee were able to pull a goal back right on halftime when Scott Constable finished a Brayden Bruce free kick at the far post to make it Dundee 1 Forth Valley 2. The second half did not improve really - the wind advantage did not help, the rhythm was still missing and when the visitors were awarded another penalty to go 3-1 up it was time to give all the subs a run. Forth Valley then scored a 4th to earn a trip to Paisley in the semifinal.

Below : ST.PIUS (PURPLE) v. DENS ROAD (BLUE) IN THE DSA ARAB TRUST SMALL SCHOOLS LEAGUE
Monday 21st February
St.Pius beat Dens Road 5-0 in the DSA Arab Trust Small Schools League. It was the first game of the season for Dens Road who slowly got it together and made some chances in the second half. The Dens Road keeper had a great game as St.Pius pressed hard. St.Pius also smashed the ball off the bar twice in the first half and scored the goal of the day from the halfway line in the second half - nothing the keeper could do with that one. Apart from their good play St.Pius also supplied the best comment of the day when an enthusiastic dad shouted advice at a corner to his young lad who retorted with "Hud yer wheesht". Chuckles all round.
Monifieth beat St.Paul's 3-2 in the Arab Trust U16 League. St.Paul's scored first then went 2-0 up after Monifieth missed a penalty. Monifieth pulled back a goal before halftime and drew level in the 2nd half. With a draw looking likely Monifieth scored a late winner.

Thursday 17th February
St.Andrew's beat St.Fergus 7-2 in the Junior Sports Cup 1st Round and now play home to Glebelands. On a sunny afternoon at a wind-free Baldragon in between the forecast storms St.Andrew's took an early lead and built on it to go 3-0 up before conceding a penalty to give St.Fergus the chance to pull one back to 3-1 at the break. In the second half St.Andrew's continued to find the net, including from the penalty spot, but St.Fergus scored a great goal and smashed the bar, as well as a few chances wide, to make it a highly entertaining game. It looked like ending 6-2 but a St.Fergus defensive slip let in St.Andrew's for the final goal.
Both Secondary games, Harris v. Monifieth U15s and St.John's v. St.Paul's U16s, were called off.

Longhaugh v. Ancrum Road in DSA Arab Trust Section A was called off early because of the threat of Storm Dudley.
St.John's and Morgan drew 1-1 in the DSA U14 League. With Storm Dudley beginning about 5 minutes from the end at DISC both teams did well to finish a close game with honours even. Morgan went ahead midway through the first half with a shot from the edge of the box and St.John's equalised with 9 minutes left. A close game and a draw was a fair result.

Thursday 10th February
While St.John's v. Grove in the Arab Trust U16 League was called off early with the forecast of strong winds at the grass pitch, St.John's beat St.Paul's 3-0 in the DSA U13 League on the astroturf at Lochee Harp. St.Paul's played with the wind in the first half but could not take advantage before St.John's struck twice into the wind. The second half was played mainly in the St.Paul's half but though St.John's crashed one off the bar there was only one more goal to show for it, then St.Paul's finally got out of their half for a couple of late attacks. An entertaining game in the very windy sunshine at Harp.

A couple of goals in the second half put Monifieth in control and the gathering crowd delighted in a popular sub's performance as he went for a 5th but was always thwarted by the away defence.

Royal HS beat St.John's 3-0 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in the Senior Girls Shield 3rd Round. St.John's were 1-0 up in Edinburgh but Royal were level right after the break. Royal soon scored again to lead 2-1 but the St.John's 11, including two S1s drafted in, equalised with plenty of time left to go for more. But with both defences standing firm no more goals were scored and it came down to penalties. Royal's first kick was parried but the ball continued on a slow bounce into the net. That set the tone for the rest of the penalties - St.John's could not score their first three kicks and Royal, despite having one saved, scored two more, so after only 7 kicks it was all over and Royal progress to the 4th Round.
